Barrels Wash Ashore In Riviera Beach, Hazmat Teams Respond

SINGER ISLAND (CBS12) — Hazmat crews are responding to Singer Island.

Two barrels washed ashore at Ocean Reef Beach.  A jogger first discovered the barrels.

The Riviera Beach Fire Department found a phosphorous grenade and a Hydrofluoride 55 gallon.

A section of the beach has been sealed off so crews can clean up the hazardous materials.

No word on what’s in the barrels or where they came from.
